Insurance Institute of South Africa
Global Cooperation
Our distance learning qualifications are open to non-South Africans who make up
13% of our students. We also collaborate with countries to adapt specific
subjects to include local content and run examinations based on this content in
those countries.
We are a participant in the newly formed African Insurance Education body,
which will be exploring ways of developing and running programs throughout the
continent. In conjunction with the African Insurance Organization (AIO),
we run regular conference-style seminars on generic topics such as management,
IT, accounts, and regulation of the industry.
We conduct an annual conference with international speakers which is attended
by delegates from outside of South Africa as well as delegates from within South
Africa.
Related Courses
Several of our subjects include a section/chapter/module on international
practice.
Some of our subjects such as reinsurance and marine and aviation underwriting
are globally orientated because of the nature of the market.
Some of our insurance management subjects at the Advanced Diploma (Fellowship)
level are broad-based in that they use internationally accepted approaches to
management.
